There are many high school graduates who are deciding to take some time to work, travel, and, in many cases, study abroad.
Our Gap Programs are intended to give students a meaningful experience to allow them to continue to earn academic progress. Students who decide to participate in the GAP Programs will:
* Attend a foreign university: Universidad de Viña del Mar (UVM)
* Take subjects with other full-time enrolled students
* Choose to study for one semester or a year
* Students will have access to the following services:
Housing and Meals with Chilean Families
Students are housed in single-occupancy rooms with host families and receive twenty-one meals per week from the host family. Other housing options are also available. For more information about accommodation, please contact us.
- Language immersion program classes
- Community service
- Orientation
- Supervision and support throughout your stay
- 24/7 emergency support
- Trips and excursions to important historical and cultural sites
- At the completion of their study program, students will receive a transcript from UVM

Universidad de Vina del Mar (UVM) was founded in 1988, and has rapidly become one of Chile's most prestigious private higher education institutions. The university has been a pioneer in the creation of new fields of study in Chile, such as Environmental Engineering & Natural Resources and Architecture. Facilities include specialized laboratories, a veterinary clinic, a modern library system, sports centers, recreational spaces, and a radio station. Total enrollment: 5,000. International students have access to a special student ID card for public transportation (Bus Pass).The UVM has its own transportion for their students at not cost.
