Learn Arabic in the Best Center in Egypt
  Egypt
  • Cairo

Dates: Throughout the year

Description: The Fajr Center for the Arabic Language was founded in Cairo in 1995 with the sole purpose of teaching the classical Arabic Language (also known as Fus-ha, or Modern Standard Arabic) to non-Arabs. From the start, it has been our philosophy to teach the language through the medium of the Arabic language itself. From day one, our students hear nothing but Arabic in class.

What has come to be known as the 'Fajr Method' has been a phenomenal success. The credit given to our students by the most prestigious universities, both in the Arab world and abroad, is as much a testimony to the effectiveness of our method as are the numerous spin-offs that attempt to imitate our method, and the distinction bestowed upon us by the Egyptian Ministry of Education.However, our greatest reward is the growing number of people who have come to share our love of the Arabic language.

Experience shows that the Center's method will allow you to make serious progress in Arabic in a extremely short period of time, whatever your starting point. Our finely graded curriculum means you will waste no time attending classes below or above your level. The Fajr Center's Cairo locations( Nascity, Dokki and Maadi) is an additional benefit for our students, as it gives them access to the resources of one of the greatest cultural centers in the Arab world. All our teachers are highly trained professionals, graduates of such prestigious Arabic faculties as those of Al-Azhar or Cairo University. Being entirely run by Egyptians, we are also able to offer highly competitive prices, adding to the low cost of living in Cairo.

This program is geared towards providing our students in the necessary information and training needed to enhance rapid learning along with gradual skill building techniques in the areas of verbal articulation, phonetics, reading and comprehension, writing, morphology, rhetoric and critical thinking in the Arabic language along with many other important skills. This program consists of twelve levels, starting from the zero level through the eleven level. We have made it our policy to assign a different teacher to a class at each level or more, providing our students with the capability to adapt and to learn to understand different voice pitches, writing, and also, to provide the student with our rich variety of teachers having different specialties within the Arabic language.

Highlights: We have currently:
* 350 students in the summer on average;
* 280 students throughout the year on average; and

Fajr Center's Mission Statement: As the world continues to evolve into a multi-cultural melting pot, communication is the key to crossing cultural barriers. Learning the language of a people will help one to understand the people. Many people depend on translators and translations as a means of communication. Even though translation is a tool in intercultural understanding, it does not compare with being able to communicate in person. The Arabic language is one of the oldest living languages in the world, and many other languages have evolved from it. It is spoken by at least 300 million people in more than 20 countries, as well as being the spiritual language of Islam, one of the world's major religions. It is also a permanent language of the United Nations, and has been established as one of the top business languages in the world. The Fajr Center of Arabic Language has taken this knowledge and developed an intensive program under the supervision of The Egyptian Ministry of Education which meets the needs of our ever-changing society. Combined with expertise and years of experience, we have created a method that allows students to make rapid progress in learning Arabic. Our goals are to train non-Arabic speakers to become proficient in speaking, writing, and reading the Arabic language. Thus, enabling them to obtain entry into Arabic universities, to teach Arabic as a second language, to obtain employment in translation services and to obtain employment in Arab countries. The FCAL is an institution of higher education, which is dedicated towards providing a fair, and an equal educational opportunity regardless of race, nationality or religion.
