Description:
* The Programmes
Most of our students choose 20 lessons per week in small groups, from Monday to Friday. They come from all over the world to learn German for their job, studies, or just for pleasure. We offer courses from beginner to advanced according to the levels recommended by the Goethe Institut, offering the best preparation for examinations, and using the latest instruction materials. The teachers prepare special material according to the individual needs and wishes of the participants so that you learn everything you need for your communication in German: Correct Wording, Perfect Pronunciation, Reading, Writing, Grammar. In addition to the morning lessons, we offer special afternoon lessons in: Conversation, Grammar, Phonetics, and Vocabulary.
* Teachers
Our teachers are post-graduate native speakers using standard German and offering considerable teaching experience and understanding of various teaching methods which they can use according to the student's needs. Continued training is, of course, the personal responsibility of our trainers. They are all specialists in teaching German as a foreign language (deutsch als fremdsprache). Moreover, many of our instructors speak several languages and have teaching experience in other countries. Therefore, they understand how it is for you to learn the language. Our instructors not only teach German, but they are also advisors who can give you study tips for your time after the course. This personal counselling is a major feature of our programme. As we conduct the exams set by the Goethe-Institut, many of our instructors are knowledgable and experienced examiners who prepare you in the best way for these exams.
* Methodology
You speak German in the very first hour. We want you to be able to speak, read, understand and write in German in as short a time as possible, which is important for you. Our trainers employ various teaching methods which are used to insure your utmost success. We use the same textbooks as the Goethe-Institut in Germany, but with additional and supplementary material for special groups. You may buy books in our bookshop. During class work, we employ a wide variety of work patterns: group work, role-playing, discussions, interviews - so that you are always participating actively. Each group consists of approximately 9 participants of different nationalities in which a particularly successful group dynamic level begins to develop. Like the Goethe-Institut in Germany, we have much experience in working with groups of this size in which particular learning phases are managed successfully.
* Accommodation
We offer accommodation in private homes and in student hostels. Private rooms are available all year round and student hostels during the summer months July, August and September. The arrival day is always one day before the course starts (normally Sundays), and the departure day one day after the course ends (normally Saturdays). Meals are generally not included. The students have cooking facilities in the private houses as well as in the student hostels which can be used at any time.
Highlights:
Social Activities, Culture and Excursions:
Hardly any other city can offer such an interesting and wide variety of cultural events. Vienna's music scene is world-known. Think about the Vienna Philharmonic, the Vienna Choir Boys, the Vienna State Opera. Here is a living concert scene that offers classic as well as modern music on the highest level. Experimental theatre is also presented here along with performances of classic theatre. Many are also interested in ballet or in modern dance. The museum collections are renowned worldwide, such as, for example, the graphic collection in the Albertina. Vienna is a city that takes care of its traditions and allows modernity to gain an even larger status.
