Description:
Our school, founded in 1986 in Orbetello (Tuscany's Maremma), is specialized in teaching Italian for foreigners. At present we are developing a very interesting collaboration with the University for Foreigners Siena through courses aimed to accumulate university credits.
For over 20 years we have accompained students on their journey of discovery of, not just Italian language, but also of this unique natural and historic region. Orbetello, surrounded by its lagoon, offers a panorama formed by spectacular landscapes: wetlandes of WWF Bird Sanctuaries; two strips of accumulated sand known by the Tuscan name of "Tomboli",called Feniglia and Giannella that close the Lagoon and open onto the sea with their long beaches; Maremma Natural Park and Argentario Promontory.
You'll find the Terramare school in the earth of the ancient city of Orbetello. This beautiful town with its historical, urban and natural feactures provides the ideal conditions for meeting people.
We offer a unique opportunity for those who want to learn a language and also want to practice using in active everyday situations. Our courses garantee full immersion in Italian Culture and Nature. In fact, the school cultural activities are aimed to exploring the "Italian way of life", cuisine, traditions, art and history.
Our method of teaching is essentially based on the communicative approach and utilizes classroom activities which encourage practical application of the language. It includes elements of analysis, assimilation, revision and oral language production based on topics linked to our countries courrent social and cultural situation. The student are expaected to partecipate actively in the classroom, interacting with one another through group-work, games and role-plays.
