Description:
The hacienda Picalquí is set in 25 hectares of farmland, forming the perfect back drop for learning Spanish in a comfortable relaxed atmosphere.
The hacienda is equipped with several classrooms and also outdoor work areas in which students can enjoy the tranquility of the countryside. Outside of classes students can participate in the daily activities of the farm as detailed in our organic agriculture program.
The course we run provides students with 20 hours of one to one tutoring with professional and qualified teachers sourced through renowned Spanish schools.
The Spanish teacher will visit the farm on a daily basis, generally taking classes in the afternoon, following a morning of activities around the hacienda.
Courses are available from beginner to advanced levels with an emphasis on grammar and conversation. Vocabulary sheets will be given with useful words for either in the fields or the classroom, depending on your chosen volunteer program.
Students are also free to continue their study through our volunteer program and cultural immersion in any one of several distinct zones in Ecuador. Home stays provide an excellent opportunity to improve your Spanish through constant daily practice, and the communities where we work are sufficiently rural to ensure a uniquely Ecuadorian experience.
Highlights:
We use only the best teachers from one of Quito's finer schools, all come highly rated (please feel free to contact former students, their emails are detailed on our web site). The hacienda is the purest of places for studying, a far cry from the hustle and bustle of nearby Quito.
