AmeriSpan - Study Spanish in San Jose, Costa Rica
  Costa Rica
  • San Jose:
  • San Jose

Term: Throughout the year
Dates: New classes begin each month

Description: With a population of over 1/2 million, San Jose is more similar to North American cities than most Central American cities. The city offers good shopping, fine dining and an active night-life, while the city's residential area where our partner school is located offers a more quiet study environment.

In San Jose, AmeriSpan works with one of Costa Rica's premier language schools, located in the eastern suburb of San Pedro, near Costa Rica's largest university. The school offers excellent programs for the more mature language students who are looking for a serious and challenging language learning experience. Many of its students come from Europe (up to 40%) providing a diverse mix of students. Its location near the University and superb, custom-built facilities - including a computer lab, terrace with a mountain view, a cafeteria and gardens - provide an ideal learning environment.

Program at San Jose (included in tuition):

- 4 hours daily instruction (20 hrs/week)
- Small group instruction (max 8)
- Private room with host family
- Breakfast and dinner daily
- Laundry service
- Airport pick-up

Costa Rica has obtained the highest standard of living in Central America by embracing democracy and disbanding its army. This small country is a paradise for nature lovers with many national parks, jungles, volcanoes, beaches and more rivers and water per square mile than any other country in the world, excluding New Zealand.
