Description:
Universidad del Norte, Barranquilla, Colombia is a prestigious private higher education institution, one or the four universities in Colombia accredited institutionally by the Colombian Ministry of Education for its academic excellence. Being conscious of the tremendous importance of culture legacies in this increasingly multicultural world we are offering all those interested in learning about other people's cultural heritage as a way to interiorize diversity, the most agreeable environment to obtain a better understanding of the Spanish language and at the same time, immersed in an event where all differences are forgotten. The three-week Spanish course will allow you to have one of the most exciting experiences in your life. Starting on January 17th to February 4th.
Barranquilla, located on Colombian Caribbean Coast offers its best looks during the months of December, January and February due to two main facts: It is the time of the breeze and magnificent sunshine and the time of Carnival. At his time Barranquilla becomes the centre of all tourist, cultural and autochthonous activities in Colombia during the four weeks preceding Carnival. You will be part of it and at the same time will improve your use of Spanish within an enjoyable environment.
Barranquilla is also an intermediate path between the two most ancient colonial cities in Colombia: Cartagena and Santa Marta. Part of our outdoor activities includes fieldtrips to each of these cities, plus private arrangements for groups for longer stayings.
Enjoy being part of Carnival parades, learn to cook traditional food, learn how to dance folk music, travel to Cartagena and Santa Marta, meet new friends, live with a Colombian family, learn Spanish and enjoy our rich caribbean culture!

Colombia is located in the Northwestern part of South America and has a population of approximately 32 million. It is the only South American country with coasts on both oceans: the Atlantic and the Pacific, and it borders with: Panama, Venezuela, Brazil, Peru and Ecuador.
