Academia Caribe is a group of private, professional, very experienced and dedicated teachers who offer Spanish Homestay Programs in Santiago de Cuba. We all have a university degree and extensive experience in the teaching of Spanish as a foreign language.
Academia Caribe provides each visiting student with both, a carefully selected homestay and a Spanish language program. Whatever level, our professional and experienced team will ensure success as well as highly enjoyable time.
The focus of our programs is on practical communication skills, with emphasis on speaking, including listening and pronunciation. New vocabulary, colloquial Spanish and grammar are introduced through a variety of stimulating and enjoyable activities. The aim is to create an environment where students develop language skills.
As a participant in the homestay program, you will become an extended family member of one of our host families. You can practice your Spanish, learn about Cuban culture, and develop bonds that will last a lifetime. Our host families are willing to give their time to you, helping you to feel comfortable and welcome.
We don't have expensive school buildings or large administrative costs - so you save a lot of money.
Highlights:
Students, non-students or simple visitors to Santiago de Cuba can register for short or long-term placements with Academia Caribe. Our homestay coordinators will match you with a homestay family that suits your personal needs.
Our host families have been carefully selected because of their kindness, generosity and willingness to open their homes, and their lives, to share with a homestay student and traveler. While in the host family's care, they will treat you as part of their family.
Host families will make their washing machines and electric irons available to students. Fresh towels and fresh bed linen are provided on a weekly basis. Most homestays offer breakfast and an evening meal (half board) , but it is also possible to book on a bed & breakfast basis.
