Description:
The majority of IVI placements require a good level of English to help others to use it as a way to share communication for the benefit of others who may well use it as their second language.
IVvolunteering is real, traditional Volunteering with only two requirements. The one is that it is to be volunteering in a country that is away from the volunteer's homeland. And the second being that the participating IVvolunteer does not receive any monetary gain from their participation in their active volunteering.
IVvolunteering can be either related to the Natural Environment or to the assistance of people in need of help. That help can be simply teaching them to communicate in English; or to assisting in a Medical Hospital. or teaching in a school or caring for disadvantaged animals; or helping disadvantaged members of the community as orphans or aged or mentally or physically disadvantaged fellow humans.
Qualifications / Skills Needed:
Selection of a placement for a volunteer depends on the volunteer's suitability which is judged by their background, experience or maybe just their interest in a particular placement's activities. The IVvolunteer does not have to have a degree for the Placements labelled 'IVP' which really only require a proven interest or experience for you to be considered suitable for that placement. There are some Placements labelled 'SIVP' which are Special and some of these do need a Degree which will be mentioned. The IVvolunteer may ask for a particular placement.

Typical Volunteer: Most volunteers come from the 17 to 25 year age group, seeking to either discover what they will do in their tertiary education or else they are seeking to gain practical experience that is related to the tertiary education that they have just completed.
Some come from the 30 to 40 year age group where the volunteer seeks to find a new path to follow in life or where the volunteer wants to gain experience in other activities that they have not yet tried.
Then there are those IVvolunteers over 50 years, who have a lot of experience to offer and are willing to share what they have with those who might gain from it, either as fellow volunteers or as the placement's host or the groups of people that the projects are aimed to assist.
